MEDITATION CLASSES
"Stress Less - Live More" by Jarlath Devaney
Meditation is often misunderstood, when people try it, they often feel like they are failing because they cannot quiet their mind, they cannot stop the thoughts from coming. As a result they often give up after a few attempts as something that is just too difficult. Well guess what, you will never stop the thoughts from coming! Some simple instruction on effective techniques, as well as a correct understanding of what meditation is and isn't, is all you need to establish a regular practice.
Meditation helps you to get rid of your stress from the past. Your body is a perfect recorder: Every late night you've had, every bite of fast food you’ve ever eaten, and every beer you’ve drank... it’s all stored in your cellular memory. Meditation gives the body deep, healing rest — rest that is actually more effective than sleep. When you give your body the rest it needs, it knows how to heal itself. One of the things it heals itself from is stress. The less stress you have in your body, the easier it is for you to perform at the top of your game.
There is no such thing as a stressful situation, only stressful responses to a given situation. In other words, stress is not what happens to you; stress is your reaction to what happens to you. And that is how meditation can help make a difference, by enabling you to choose a more empowering reaction to circumstances. This may sound like a small benefit. It is not! Being able to respond elegantly to life's demands rather than your body habitually flying off the handle can make the difference between heaven on earth or a living hell.
"Meditation has helped me to reduce stress, be better at decision-making, increase my productivity and improve my overall well-being. It is my wish to share effective meditation techniques to help you deal with the stresses of modern life." Jarlath Devaney
